Its principal activities include the certification of businesses, and consultancy. The organisations segements include sustainability, workforce relations, online trust and business intelligence. On July 22, 2004 it acquired the Imperial Mark commission. On Jan 5th,2005 it acquired eTrust and the ITA, combining it with existing operations. On the 5th Feb,2009 it acquired Algen and the Allergy Aware standard, creating a new segment for it.
